SACOST Staff Pay Courtesy Call to Vice-Chancellor

A delegation from the Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST) at the Institute of Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS) on Thursday, 7th November, 2024, met with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Professor Stephen Jobson Mitchual.

Led by Prof. Enoch F. Sam, Head of SACOST, the delegation included Dr. Ethel Ansaah Addae and Dr. Victus Kumazah, both Research Fellows, Mr. Justin Osei, SACOST Administrator, and Miss Beatrice Eshun, a National Service Person.

During the visit, Prof. Sam extended SACOST’s gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his invaluable support of the university's research activities, particularly those spearheaded by SACOST.

Prof. Sam highlighted SACOST’s recent strides in research and community engagement, with initiatives to bolster STEM education across Ghana and beyond. He underscored the Centre’s contributions to science education and community outreach, addressing ongoing challenges, including the need for enhanced resources to optimise research and project implementation.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mitchual reiterated his commitment to SACOST’s objectives, expressing his intention to provide the necessary resources to advance the Centre’s mission. His assurance of support emphasised UEW’s dedication to fostering research environments that empower educational development and community impact.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen collaboration between SACOST and the university’s leadership. This initiative reinforces SACOST’s position as a key driver of STEM education, promising a brighter future for science and technology initiatives that benefit communities throughout Ghana and beyond.
