About the Programme
University and Community Working Together
The Vice-Chancellor's Community Initiative Programme is an intervention of the University of Education, Winneba designed to address educational and economic challenges within its surrounding communities.
Through collaboration among the University, community leaders, donors, partners and beneficiaries, VCCIP seeks to create educational opportunities, improve access to tertiary education and provide young people with employable skills.

Our Objectives
Building Pathways to Education and Employment
VCCIP is guided by three objectives that respond to the educational and economic needs of Effutu, Ajumako and their eligible surrounding communities.
Improve Educational Standards
Contribute to the improvement of educational standards within the Effutu and Ajumako Educational Directorates.
Expand Access to Tertiary Education
Provide financial assistance to needy indigenes of Effutu and Ajumako to pursue tertiary education, with particular attention to STEM programmes.
Develop Employable Skills
Equip young people in Effutu and Ajumako with practical and marketable skills that can improve their employment and livelihood opportunities.
What We Do
Our Three Programme Areas
VCCIP delivers its community interventions through three complementary programme areas focused on education, financial support and practical skills development.
Neighbourhood Academic Initiative Programme
Nurtures the interest and abilities of young learners in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics during the early stages of their education.
Financial Support for Needy Indigenous Students
Financial assistance for eligible indigenes of Effutu and Ajumako pursuing tertiary education, covering tuition and accommodation with particular attention to STEM programmes.
Community Apprenticeship Initiative Programme
Vocational training and certification that equips young people with practical, marketable and employable skills.
