The Home Economics Student Association  (HESA) was established in the year 2006/2007 under the Faculty of Science. The association has students members from four departments. The departments with students in this association are Department of Integrated Home Economics Education, Department of Clothing and Textiles Education, Department of Family Life Management Education and the Department of Food and Nutrition Education.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF HESA

  • To seek the welfare of HESA members.
  • To provide resources to help members in their academic work.
  • To foster unity and friendship among members and improve staff-student relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
  • To promote good relationships between the faculty and other faculties/departments in the University and Other Home Economics Departments in other institutions as well as the Home Economics Research Association of Ghana (HERAG).
  • To undertake projects that would be beneficial to the members and the University community as a whole.
  • To protect the rights of individual members of the association.
  • To protect and defend the common goals of the association.
  • To encourage the organization of seminars, talk shows, lectures, educational trips and social gatherings.

Achievement

The Home Economics Students' Association over the years have been providing a number of projectors and P. A. systems with some other electrical gargets to aid learning. Currently, the current administration (2025 executives) renovated the association secretariate and prepared a learning grounds convenient for students waiting in between lecture hours.
