The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) marked another historic academic milestone at the Second Session of its 29th Congregation with a powerful address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, who reaffirmed the university’s leadership in teacher education, digital transformation and community development.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) witnessed a moment of resounding inspiration during the second session of its 29th Congregation as Ms. Jemima Akoni, valedictorian for the Congregation delivered an address that captured the trials, triumphs and tenacity of the university’s newest graduates.

At the second session of the 29th Congregation of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Chancellor, Neenyi Ghartey VII, urgently appealed for peace in Bawku and surrounding communities where ongoing conflict has affected lives, education, and livelihoods. “Let the guns go silent. Let peace speak louder in Bawku. We cannot educate a nation while part of it burns,” he pleaded.  

In a demonstration of cross-continental collaboration, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has embarked on an academic partnership with the University of Teacher Education (PH Luzern) in Switzerland, signalling a new era of innovation, research, and global synergy in teacher education.

The University of Education, Winneba’s (UEW) 2025 Public Lecture Series has been hailed as a massive success, contributing to academic excellence and intellectual engagement.

Hon. Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, Deputy Minister for Education, has reiterated the Government’s commitment to educational reform and called for stronger institutional collaboration to drive transformative learning at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), and across the country.

Mr. Edmond Moukala, UNESCO Representative in Ghana, has championed a bold rethink of Africa's education future at the University of Education, Winneba’s (UEW) Public Lecture Series, calling for transformative systems that meet 21st-century demands.
