VICE - CHANCELLOR'S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
Dear Esteemed University of Education, Winneba Community,
As we joyfully embrace the spirit of Christmas and welcome the dawn of a new year, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and hope. On the eve of the first Christmas of my tenure as Vice-Chancellor, I am compelled to reflect on the remarkable journey we have undertaken together as a university community thus far.
This festive season serves as an expressive reminder of the power of reconciliation and the strength we draw from coming together as one academic family. In the spirit of Christmas, let us extend the hand of fellowship, understanding, and forgiveness to each other, fostering an environment that nurtures growth, learning, and collaboration.
Our commitment to drive the digital transformation of UEW aligns with both the rapid pace of technological advancements and our vision to pioneer digital solutions for the benefit of our students, faculty, and staff.
Recently, we launched our new university website—an intuitive platform primed to improve communication, accessibility, and the overall digital experience for our university community.
We have, through dedicated efforts addressed over 98% of student portal issues, ensuring a seamless academic experience at the institution. This commitment resulted in the publication of over 98% of last semester's examination results.
As we forge ahead, we are diligently working on introducing an online transcript and English language proficiency request system. This system is meticulously designed to provide a streamlined and efficient process for accessing academic records, aiming to alleviate the usual challenges associated with document acquisition.
I must, in line with the strategic objective of consolidating the gains made by UEW over the years, credit previous administrations of the university for initiating the various processes resulting in these gains, which I have continued upon assuming office.
These strategic initiatives underscore management's dedication to leveraging technology, offering students cutting-edge educational resources, online libraries, and digital learning tools to empower them to achieve academic excellence.
As we embark on a new chapter, I am energised by the collective commitment we share towards our noble mission of training competent professionals for all levels of education.
Our university stands as a beacon of educational excellence, and it is incumbent upon us to redouble our efforts in shaping the future of education in our nation and beyond. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." (Colossians 3:23, NIV)
In alignment with our commitment to research, dissemination of knowledge, and contribution to educational policy and development, we stand at the cusp of becoming a hub for ground-breaking research and innovative educational practices.
I extend my warmest felicitations to the Effutu, Ajumako, and Satellite communities where our esteemed university operates. I express my profound appreciation for the unwavering support we have received. Your resilience and engagement contribute immeasurably to the vibrant tapestry of our institution.
To the entire university community, including our dedicated faculty, diligent staff, and enthusiastic students, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your hard work and commitment lay the foundation for our success, and I am confident that, together, we will achieve even greater milestones in the coming year.
To the parents who entrust us with the education of their cherished ones, I assure you that we take this responsibility with the utmost seriousness. Our commitment to providing a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment for your students remains unwavering.
Finally, I extend my appreciation to all stakeholders who play pivotal roles in the realisation of our vision to be an internationally reputable institution for teacher education and research. Your partnership is integral to our success, and I am eager to continue working closely with each of you.
Let’s embrace the true spirit of Christmas – a season of love, compassion, and renewal. May the coming year bring us closer together, fortify our shared vision, and propel the University of Education, Winneba, to new heights of academic distinction.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
