The Early Childhood Programme aims at:

» Enabling the Early Childhood Educator to know the meaning, nature, principles and foundations of Early Childhood Education.

» Enabling Early Childhood educators understand the roles and functions of Early Childhood teachers in the context of the emerging trends in child development.

» Exposing trainees to the techniques of handling specific Early Childhood subjects.

The programme is intended for:

» SHS Certificate Holders

» Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’ Holders

» Social Workers

» All those who desire to be trained in the education of children at the pre-school level.

Entry Requirement

A. SSSCE Candidates: Credit Passes ( A-D) in six( 6) subject comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

B. WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising

A. three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

B. GBCE Candidates: Credits Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three relevant elective subjects.

C. (B) Mature Candidates

Applicants must be at least 25 years by September 1 of the academic year of application.

• Must show a documentary proof of date of birth (possibly birth certificate issued not less than three years).

• Must hold Certificates of a Professional Training from a recognised institution

• Must pass a selection interview
