A total of 28 student groups presented their collections, blending creativity with academic discipline to produce garments that reflected both innovation and technical mastery. The runway glittered with bold statements of formal wear, elegant dinner outfits, chic party styles, Avant Garde expressions and other creative modern pieces, underscoring the diversity and originality of UEW’s budding fashion professionals.

The show was not merely a display of garments but also a practical academic assessment, offering graduating students the opportunity to translate classroom knowledge into industry-ready designs. Each creation reflected months of research, sketching, fabric selection, pattern cutting and precision tailoring, culminating in a spectacle that left the audience in awe.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Baxton Baani, course lecturer, highlighted the dual purpose of the show as both an academic evaluation and an industry engagement platform.

“This event celebrates the creative skills and talent of our graduating students. It is not just a platform to showcase their hard work but also to foster networking and collaboration within the fashion industry and to celebrate their achievements.” he remarked.

The runway presentations revealed a deep sense of storytelling with each collection bearing unique concepts inspired by culture, sustainability, contemporary lifestyles and global fashion narratives. While some students experimented with futuristic Avant Garde designs that pushed the boundaries of style, others embraced minimalism, redefining simplicity with elegance and precision.

The show also spotlighted the department’s mission of equipping students with entrepreneurial and industry-relevant skills that align with the creative economy’s growing demands.

By the end of the evening, it was evident that the 7th Graduates’ Fashion Show was more than a showcase; it was a celebration of resilience, a bridge between academia and industry and a declaration of UEW’s commitment to shaping fashion leaders who can transform disruptions into legacies.

The Department of Textiles and Fashion Education reaffirmed its vision of producing graduates who are not only equipped to contribute to Ghana’s fashion industry but are also poised to influence global fashion conversations with creativity, sustainability and cultural authenticity.

The night ended with applause, photographs and pride as UEW’s graduating fashion students walked off the stage, leaving behind a trail of inspiration. With their bold designs and innovative ideas, they had truly crafted a legacy, one that will extend far beyond the walls of the university into the heart of the fashion industry.
