Dr. Florence E. Nyieku is a Lecturer at the University of Education, Department of Environmental Health and Sanitation. Florence holds a PhD in Environmental Sanitation and Waste Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana), Mphil degree in Development studies (Environment and Development) and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, both from University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dr Nyieku is an interdisciplinary environmental scientist with core research interests in sustainable and circular economy approach to environmental waste management practices, nature based approach to oilfields produced water management; WASH behavioral change education with over a decade experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative research. With her rich knowledge in natural and social science, Florence has worked on several projects including Tributyltin as an indicator of harbor pollution; Human health risk assessment and epidemiological studies from exposure to toxic chemicals; Corporate social responsibility and mining; Decentralization, quality water supply and hygiene education and Potential of constructed wetland for oilfields produced water management as project manager, research assistant and fieldwork coordinator/supervisor. Dr Nyieku has published in many renowned international journals and serves a reviewer for some top international peer-reviewed journals including Elsevier (Journal of Cleaner Production)
