Biography
Patricia Mawusi Amos is a senior lecturer at the Department of Counselling Psychology, University of Education, Winneba (UEW). She holds a PhD in Counselling, and she is an expert and certified in the use of technology for counselling (online counselling). She is also involved in the study of the aged and young adults.
Patricia’s work with UEW commenced as a Research Fellow and has received training on supervising data collection and evaluating education projects at the National Centre for Research into Basic Education (NCRIBE), UEW. She has extensive experience in basic and secondary education drawn from the implementation and coordination of education research, working with both quantitative and qualitative approaches whereby process and change theory approaches are employed in evaluation. Patricia has been involved with projects such as evaluation of corporal punishment in Ghanaian Basic schools, girl child education intervention, Sesame IDP rising school programme, Enhanced Alert school model, play pedagogies and the Evaluation of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examinations.
Presently, Patricia works as a lecturer in Counselling Psychology and Teacher Education. She is also involved in organising and facilitating workshops and symposiums in counselling and teacher education. Her PhD. is centred on comparative analysis of face-to-face and e-counselling in tertiary institutions.
Patricia is a member of numerous academic organisations. Some of which are International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD), Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), American Psychological Association (APA), Ghana Psychological Association and a licensed professional with the Ghana Psychology Council.
