Biography
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and senior lecturer in the Department of Counselling Psychology, University of Education. I am currently on a PhD programme at the University of Cape Coast. I have been teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and conducting research in Psychology and Mental health. My early research works were on depression, anxiety and stress among adolescents. Recently I have been focusing more on community and school-based mental health research namely; bullying, teacher-student relationship and sense of belonging. I also offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Interculturally, I spent a year in Denmark as an exchange student with the American Field Service (AFS) Intercultural Exchange Programs, Ghana. In 2012 I completed a course in crisis intervention and intercultural conflict styles at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communications (SIIC), Reed College, Portland Oregon, USA. I hold a National Qualified Trainer of the American Field Service Intercultural Link Learning Program Certificate. I have been involved in orientation on culture shock and adjustment for International students in UEW and the AFS Intercultural Exchange Programs, Ghana for several years.
