Prof. (Mrs.)Akpanglo-Nartey Appointed First Female Principal of UEW's College of Languages Education
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has appointed Prof. (Mrs.) Rebecca Atchoi Akpanglo-Nartey as the first female Principal of the College of Languages Education, effective October 1, 2024.
Prof. (Mrs.) Akpanglo-Nartey, a distinguished scholar with a profound commitment to academic excellence, will serve a four-year term, which is renewable, with the possibility of termination by either party upon six months' notice.
As Principal, Prof. Akpanglo-Nartey will lead the College of Languages Education, guiding academic and administrative functions in alignment with UEW’s policies, statutory guidelines, and government directives. Her leadership will be pivotal in advancing the College’s mission to foster language education, enrich the curriculum, and enhance the university’s role as a premier centre of learning and research.
Prof. Akpanglo-Nartey’s appointment reflects the confidence the UEW community has in her vision and capabilities. She will work closely with the Vice-Chancellor, governing council, and faculty to strengthen the university’s academic standards and propel UEW’s reputation as a leader in language education across the region. Her role will oversee daily operations and support UEW’s broader strategic goals in academic innovation and community engagement.
As head of the College of Languages Education, she will assist in developing the University of Education, Winneba, as a premier learning institution.
