Alfred Kuranchie has been in the teaching service for almost three decades. He has taught at all the three strands of education (Basic, Secondary and Tertiary). He taught in four Junior and senior high schools respectively and won best teacher awards a number of times. At the tertiary level, Dr. Kuranchie taught for more than ten years at the Catholic University of Ghana, Sunyani, where in addition held administrative positions such as Project work co-ordinator, Head of Department and Dean of Faculty of Education. He taught courses and supervised project work, dissertation and thesis at both undergraudate and postgraduate levels.
For some years now, Dr Kuranchie has been at the Department of Social Studies Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), where he handles research, sociology and education related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Educational Administration and Management, UEW where he teaches Quantitative research as well as Statistics and Measurement in Educational Administration and Management. He, in addition, supervises project work, dissertations and theses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Department of Social Studies Education. Dr. Kuranchie also supervises MEd., MPhil and PhD dissertations and theses at the Department of Educational Administration and Management.
Dr. Alfred Kuranchie has conducted numerous studies and published them in both local and international peer reviewed journals. He has also presented at local, national, regional and international conferences. Further, he has attended several workshops, seminars and symposia locally and internationally. He also serves as a reviewer of a number of local and international journals. Dr. Kuranchie also serves a member of panel of experts for some national regulatory bodies and higher education institutions to help shape education discourse for the country.
