Call for Papers | Simpa Journal of African Studies

The Centre for African Studies, UEW is calling for papers for the maiden issue of its Simpa Journal of African Studies.
For a long time, African intellectual traditions and contributions to knowledge have not been accorded the respect they deserve. If this is to be remedied, Africanist scholars must step up to the task of building alternative epistemes by investigating African knowledge systems and centering the African perspective. For its maiden issue, the Simpa Journal of African Studies welcomes contributions that engage with the theme of indigenous knowledge production in Africa. Authors are encouraged to submit contributions that address the following themes.
Themes:
- Histories, narratives, and cultural productions of specific people and places in Africa.
- African intellectual traditions and their place in the world.
- Processes, outcomes, and implications of knowledge production in Africa.
- Voices, silences, and tensions in African knowledge production.
Authors may also submit contributions that focus on other related areas of research on Africa.
