Abstract

This paper discusses the socio-cultural and academic connotations of mural paintings in UEW, with the focus on the premises of the Department of Art Education. The term "tantalizing utopia" connotes a sense of a serene countryside environment and paradise experience, yet in reality, it is the opposite. Learners were presupposed to have easy ways of studying in the Art Education Department, and the data gathered was transcribed and linked with similar literature. The text has paved the way for learners to understand these mural paintings and serves as the reference point for current artistic appraisal.

Keywords: art education, academic mural painting, iconographic art, panorama of painting
