Once Upon an Elephant | A stage performance by the Theatre Arts Department

The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Education, Winneba, proudly presents "Once Upon an Elephant," an intriguing play by Bosede Ademilua-Afolayan, directed by Faithful Ogidi Emmanuel.

Synopsis

Once Upon an Elephant follows the tyrannical rule of a king in the quest for immortality and indomitable power. Even though he is not the rightful heir to the throne, Olaniyonu ascends it with the help of the chief priest. His reign, not surprisingly, is filled with terror and when their oppressive king rapes the virgin, Desola, as part of his rituals for immortality, his action sets the stage for his eventual downfall. His insatiable lust for power, wealth, and fame leads untimely to his death.
