Notice of Election of UEW Alumni Association Executive Officers

The UEW Alumni Reorganisation Committee, together with the Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA), is pleased to inform University of Education, Winneba (UEW) alumni that the nomination process is now open for the election of Officers who will serve on the Interim National Executive Committee (NEC) of the UEW Alumni Association. This announcement calls all eligible alumni to participate actively in the nomination process, ensuring that the NEC is composed of dedicated and visionary leaders committed to advancing the interests of the alumni community and the university at large.

Vacant positions are as follows:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • General Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Organising Secretary

Opening of Nominations

Saturday, 11th January, 2025

Closing of Nominations

Thursday, 16th January, 2025(4:00pm)

Declaration of Nominations

Friday, 17th January, 2025

Congress

Friday, 31st January, 2025 | 3:00pm

Election

Saturday, 1st February, 2025, 9:00am – 3:00pm at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, University of Education, Winneba.

 

Nomination Instructions:

  • A nomination form shall be rendered invalid if it does not show the name, Student ID/Alumni Number, signature of the nominee, person nominating, witnesses, and their phone numbers.
  • Nominating a candidate for more than one position renders the form invalid.
  • Prescribed nomination forms can be downloaded from the UEW Website.

  • All nominations should reach the Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA), Room Numbers 102 or 104 Nathaniel Kofi Pecku Building, North Campus, Winneba NOT LATER THAN 4:00 pm on Thursday, 16th January, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. To be eligible to vote, members must pay a total of GH¢50.00, which includes:
  1. Annual dues of GH¢24.00.
  2. An administrative fee of GH¢26.00..
  1. To contest at the Interim National Executive Level, candidates must pay a total of GH¢272.00 which includes:
  1. Three (3) years dues of GH¢72.00 from 2022 to 2024.
  2. Nomination and administrative fees of GH¢200.00.
  • Payment for the nomination form shall be done via the Bank Account Details below:

Procedure for Online Payment

  1. Go to the University website via www.uew.edu.gh
  2. Locate the Alumni Link and click on it.
  3. Log into the portal using index number and Date of Birth as used for admission
  4. First register by providing email address to confirm registration.
  5. To make payment, click on Dues Payment and select pending payment > click on the respective year.
  6. Follow the prompt and make payment.

For contestants, kindly pay the total amount of GH¢272.00 to the bank account provided and attach to the Nomination form for submission to OIA.
