Entry Requirement

Applicants to be admitted into the Ph.D. programme of the department of English must possess a research master’s degree from a recognised university in relevant discipline as indicated below for the respective tracks:

  1. Language Track – Research Master’s in English, Linguistics.
  2. Literature Track – Research Master’s in Literature, creative writing, Theatre Studies.
  3. Pedagogy Track – Research Master’s in English, Linguistics, English as a Second Language, Basic Education, Early Childhood, Curriculum Studies with relevant specialisation.
  4. Applicants must have undertaken studies in Education at the tertiary level.

NB: Programme duration is four (4) years
