African Societies over the years have endured several challenges and continue to tolerate them. Some of these challenges relate to episodes of underdevelopment, poverty, hunger and food crisis, and diseases, accompanied by wobbly institutional frameworks to deal with these episodes. The expectation of society is the provision of robust governance structures and guideposts. The structures and processes designed to ensure responsiveness, inclusivity, and an empowered society have not often yielded the desired results.
