The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed the University of Education, Winneba’s (UEW) vital role in moulding Ghana’s human capital and driving national transformation.

Representing Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Newman, Director of Tertiary Education, delivered a message of solidarity, appreciation and renewed partnership during the first session of UEW’s 30th Congregation on Friday, 28th November, 2025.

Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, Central Regional Minister, speaking on behalf of the President of the Republic, H. E. John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing bold, far-reaching educational reforms aimed at strengthening equity, access and quality across Ghana’s education sector.

He delivered the address on Saturday, 29th November, 2025, at the climax of the first session of the University of Education, Winneba’s (UEW) 30th Congregation.

Mr. Lawrence Gyasi Senior, valedictorian for the 2025 graduating class of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has delivered stirring address to celebrate his cohort’s resilience and challenged Ghanaian language misconceptions.

He urged graduates to step into the world as cultural guardians and creators of new opportunities. He emphasised the importance of confidence in Ghanaian languages and cultures, encouraging graduates to become torchbearers of cultural and intellectual renewal.

Neenyi Ghartey VII, Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has issued an urgent call for national action against the environmental and social devastation caused by illegal mining, warning that the destruction threatens Ghana’s stability, public health and future generations.

He delivered the message on Wednesday, 26th November, 2025, at the First Session of the University’s 30th Congregation held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Wednesday, 26th November, 2025, commenced the First Session of its 30th Congregation at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.

The four-day ceremony, expected to conclude on Saturday, 29th November, 2025, drew together traditional authorities, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, guardians, members of the media and thousands of excited graduands.

A Master of Philosophy (MPhil) student at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has made a mark on the international stage as Ghana’s sole representative at the final phase of the Erasmus+ Students and Alumni Alliance (ESAA) Impact Forum 2025, held on Saturday, 15th November, 2025, at the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie Conference Room, University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin.
