UEW Receives Cutting-Edge Smart Board from Republic Bank Plc

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Monday, 8th July, 2024, received a state-of-the-art 75-inch Huawei IdeaHub B2 Smart Board from Republic Bank Plc. This cutting-edge technology, featuring an impressive 8,192 RAM, promises to set the tone to transform teaching and learning at the university.

The smart board will provide students with an interactive and immersive platform, enabling hands-on knowledge and skill acquisition. Its advanced features, including multi-touch functionality, digital whiteboarding tools, and wireless connectivity, will allow lecturers to deliver engaging lessons, simulations, and virtual experiments. This will make complex concepts more accessible and enjoyable for students.

Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, Vice-Chancellor of UEW, expressed profound gratitude for the donation, stating, "This smart board will revolutionise the teaching and learning in our institution, providing our lecturers and students with a cutting-edge tool to navigate the complexities of 21st-century technology."

Mr. Joseph Laryea Ashong, General Manager, Retail and Commercial Banking at Republic Bank Plc, highlighted the alignment of the donation with the bank's corporate social responsibility and commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education. "Ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all is a priority for us, and this smart board is a significant step towards that goal," he said.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah, Registrar of UEW, also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the donors, emphasising the significance of the smart board in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. "This donation will have a profound impact on our students' learning outcomes, enabling them to compete favourably in the technologically driven world," she noted.

The Huawei IdeaHub B2 Smart Board is set to revolutionise collaborative learning at UEW. Students will be able to work on projects, share ideas, and receive real-time feedback, developing essential skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.
