Hon. Rev. Mensah emphasised that his visit was not only symbolic but strategic. “This is my first opportunity to meet most of you in person but I consider this moment a fulfillment of one of the main goals of my leadership, to build sustainable partnerships for development. UEW is a key stakeholder in the progress of Effutu. I want to make it clear that this administration is ready to partner with the University to uplift the image of our municipality,” he remarked.

Hon. Rev. Mensah assured the University that his leadership would remain responsive and collaborative. He reiterated his mandate to deliver 100% performance, supported by the people’s expectations and his values as a man of faith and integrity.

We are prepared to collaborate in research, implementation of community projects and development planning,” she assured.

Prof. Frimpong Kaakyire Duku, Principal of the College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL), echoed similar sentiments, urging the MCE to support UEW in securing and protecting land for future development. “The University now serves over 66,000 students, and we need space to expand academic programmes. We must get municipal support to prevent land encroachment and facilitate planned expansion,” he stressed.

Touching on housing and student welfare, Prof. Duku highlighted the burden on the community caused by limited on-campus accommodation, advocating for regulatory support to prevent students from being exploited by private landlords.
