IERIS-UEW Empowers Teachers with CPD in Lower Manya Krobo

The Institute of Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS) of the University of Education, Winneba, has organised a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshop for 304 educational administrators and teachers in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern region of Ghana.

The event, which took place on 12th October, 2023, was simultaneously conducted at three different locations within the municipality.

The workshop aimed to enhance the teaching and instructional capabilities of educators, focusing on "Instructional Techniques and Resources for Teaching Creative Arts in Basic Schools."

The facilitating team, consisting of eminent educators, played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the CPD workshop were Prof. Ernest Akwasi Amponsah, Prof. Samuel Yirenkyi, and Mr. Godfred Nana Yeboah, representing the School of Creative Arts at the University of Education, Winneba, shared their expertise and insights on creative arts education.

Prof. Alexander Edwards, Mr. Cosmos Kwame Dzikunu, Mr. Collins Owusu-Ansah, Mr. Andrews Acquah, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Essiaw, and Mr. Justin Kwame Osei, all from the Institute, worked diligently to ensure that the CPD workshop met its objectives.

The event served as a testament to the University of Education, Winneba's commitment to professional development and educational excellence in Ghana, offering local educators the necessary tools and knowledge to create more engaging and effective learning experiences for students.

The training was well-received by participants who actively engaged in the various sessions to acquire valuable skills and knowledge to inspire the next generation of learners in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

The successful CPD workshop conducted by IERIS-UEW signifies the university's commitment to advancing the educational landscape in Ghana, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of education in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
