UEW Branch Executives of CIAMC Sworn-In
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), marked a significant milestone on Saturday, 11th May, 2024, as the executives of the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants (CIAMC) – Ghana, were formally sworn into office.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the North Campus Mini-Conference Room, highlighted the commitment of UEW to advancing professional standards within the university community.
The newly inducted executives who will lead the association for the next two years are Ms. Patricia Kaitoo (President), Dr. Bernard B. B. Bingab (Vice-President), Ms. Maura Tenteh (Secretary), Mr. Jones Appiah-Kubi (Assistant Secretary), Ms. Francisca Elorm Kukbegah (Treasurer), Mr. Ernest E. Azutigah (Branch Webmaster), and Mr. Isaac Darko (Continuing Professional Development Officer).
Dr. Samuel Mawusi Asafo, the CEO of CIAMC, officiated the swearing-in ceremony. In his address, Dr. Asafo emphasised the importance of leadership and responsibility, urging the new executives to leverage their expertise to enhance the association's activities.
"Remain resolute and take full responsibility for your roles," he charged, adding that their efforts should aim to make the association more appealling and beneficial to the university community and beyond. He encouraged the executives to prioritise the welfare of their members and strive to meet their diverse needs.
Following the oath-taking, Ms. Patricia Kaitoo, the newly sworn-in President, expressed her gratitude to all who played a role in making the inauguration a success. She acknowledged the support from the CIAMC board, CEO, and management for their efforts in extending professional training opportunities to UEW. Ms. Kaitoo pledged to work diligently with her team to ensure the vibrancy and activeness of the UEW Branch of CIAMC.
"The launch of the Winneba Branch of the Institute is timely, especially when professional qualifications are vital for career advancement in higher education," she remarked. Ms. Kaitoo stressed the critical need for continuous knowledge enhancement and professional development, urging university staff and surrounding institutions to take advantage of CIAMC's programmes to improve their administrative skills.
The event also featured the 47th Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (MCPE) seminar, focusing on "Building Strategic Working Relationships." Mr. Steve van Kamassah, Deputy Registrar at the Division of Publications and Communication, UEW, delivered an insightful presentation on effective relationship-building in professional settings.
He underscored the significance of strong workplace relationships in driving innovation and achieving organisational success. "Establishing trust, effective communication, and mutual understanding are essential for collaboration and achieving common goals," Mr. Kamassah noted.
The ceremony and seminar collectively underscored the UEW Branch of CIAMC's commitment to promoting professional growth and enhancing administrative excellence within the academic community.
