Student Associations
The students’ association at the Centre for African Studies is known and called “Religious and Moral Studies Education Students Association of Ghana-University of Education, Winneba”. Herein referred to as "RESAG-UEW". All lecturers of the Centre for African Studies are patrons and patronesses with one being a Chief patron of the association.
Aims and Objectives
- To help promote respect and appreciate different religious tolerance, values, ethics and ways of life.
- To seek to promote religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
- To seek the welfare of its members.
- To foster unity and friendship among members.
- To provide resources to help members in their academic work.
- To work towards maintenance of good and healthy staff-student relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
- To promote good relationship between the department and other departments in the university and other relevant affiliate bodies.
- To protect the rights of the individual members of the association.
- To encourage the organisation of seminars, talk shows, divisional lectures, excursions and social gatherings to provide platform for and also project the image of the association.
Membership
- Membership of RESAG-UEW consists of students, patrons and honorary members.
- All students admitted to UEW to read Religious and Moral Studies Education become members.
- Any student of UEW reading Religious and Moral Studies Education as a second (minor) subject shall apply to become a member.
- Any other student who wants to be an affiliate can do so through application.
- Notwithstanding Clauses a), b) and c), a student loses his/her membership if:
- he/she is withdrawn from the university.
- his/her behaviour becomes persistently incompatible with the objectives of the association.
- he/she completes his/her course of study.
- Members of the association pay annual dues to determine their status and entitlements.
