Student Associations

Leader in Teacher Education

The students’ association at the Centre for African Studies is known and called “Religious and Moral Studies Education Students Association of Ghana-University of Education, Winneba”. Herein referred to as "RESAG-UEW". All lecturers of the Centre for African Studies are patrons and patronesses with one being a Chief patron of the association. 

Aims and Objectives 

  1. To help promote respect and appreciate different religious tolerance, values, ethics and ways of life.
  2. To seek to promote religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
  3. To seek the welfare of its members.
  4. To foster unity and friendship among members.
  5. To provide resources to help members in their academic work.
  6. To work towards maintenance of good and healthy staff-student relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
  7. To promote good relationship between the department and other departments in the university and other relevant affiliate bodies.
  8. To protect the rights of the individual members of the association.
  9. To encourage the organisation of seminars, talk shows, divisional lectures, excursions and social gatherings to provide platform for and also project the image of the association.

Membership

  1. Membership of RESAG-UEW consists of students, patrons and honorary members.
  2. All students admitted to UEW to read Religious and Moral Studies Education become members.
  3. Any student of UEW reading Religious and Moral Studies Education as a second (minor) subject shall apply to become a member.
  4. Any other student who wants to be an affiliate can do so through application.
  5. Notwithstanding Clauses a), b) and c), a student loses his/her membership if:
  • he/she is withdrawn from the university.
  • his/her behaviour becomes persistently incompatible with the objectives of the     association.
  •  he/she completes his/her course of study.
  1. Members of the association pay annual dues to determine their status and entitlements.

The Executive Committee of RESAG-UEW comprises the following:

  6. Welfare officer
  7. Organising secretary
  8. Public Relations Officer (P.R.O)
