Welcome Message from the Dean

Dear Students, I warmly welcome you to the University of Education, Winneba. As Dean of Student Affairs, my role—and that of my Office—is to support you beyond the lecture room. While your lecturers will guide your academic work, the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for your student life experience, including your welfare, guidance, discipline, counselling, safety, accommodation matters, and general wellbeing throughout your stay at UEW. 

Transitioning into university life can be both exciting and demanding. You will encounter new academic expectations, greater personal responsibility, and a diverse community of peers. The purpose of this orientation programme is to help you adjust confidently and responsibly to these changes by providing you with practical information about how the University works and how best to conduct yourself as a UEW student.

Through this programme, you will be introduced to essential student support services, University regulations, and behavioural expectations that will guide your academic and social life on campus. You will also learn where to seek help when challenges arise and how to take advantage of the many opportunities available to you as students of UEW.

I encourage you to pay close attention to the sessions outlined in this orientation programme. Ask questions, take notes, and engage fully—whether you are participating virtually or in person. The knowledge you gain here will help you avoid unnecessary difficulties and position you for a successful and rewarding university experience.

Let me assure you that the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs operates an open-door policy. We are here to listen, to guide, and to support you whenever the need arises. Your success, safety, and wellbeing matter to us.

I wish to thank the various facilitators and resource persons who have taken the time to prepare and share valuable information with you during this orientation. Their contributions are essential to helping you settle well into university life.
