Call for Applications | Special Postgraduate Diploma in Education for National Service Person

Applications are invited from qualified applicants to pursue the Special Postgraduate Diploma in Education (SPGDE)

Details of the programme are as follows:

• Duration: One National Service year
• Mode: face-to-face/online

Entry Requirements:

Applicant must:

1. Be a national service person teaching in a Senior High/ Technical School
2. Have a Bachelor's degree (Second Class Lower) or better in a discipline outside of education. Applicants with Third Class or Pass would have to pass a selection interview
3. Participants of the Mandatory 2-Week National Pedagogy Training Programme organised by the National Teaching Council also qualify

Prospects:

Graduates of the SPGDE programme will have the following employment/academic progression potentials:

1. write the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), and obtain a professional teacher license
2. be considered for recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES) as teachers
3. be potentially employed within private pre-tertiary institutions
4. pursue postgraduate programmes in the field of education
