Aims and Objectives of the programme are

» To inculcate in the students the requisite knowledge and practical skills for the challenging demands of theatre

Entry Requirement

A. SSSCE Candidates

• Passes (A – D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science OR Social Studies, plus

• Passes in three (3) elective subjects.

• A credit in Literature in English will be an advantage.

B. WASSCE Candidates

• Must possess credit passes (A1– C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science OR Social Studies, plus

• Must possess credit passes (A1 – C6) in three (3) elective subjects.

• A credit in Literature in English will be an advantage.

A. GCE Advanced Level Candidates

• Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better).

• Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for Science students).

B. Mature Candidates

• Candidates must be at least 25 years by September 1 of the academic year s/he wants to enrol.

• Must hold a Teacher’s Certificate A/be a Diploma holder

• Must pass the UEW entrance examination and/or

• A Departmental Examination and interview.

• Post Diploma Candidates

• Candidates must possess a Diploma in a relevant subject from a recognised institution.

• The class obtained should be B average or better and

• Must pass a selection interview.

Post-Diploma candidates will be admitted to Level 200.
