Present and Former UEW Alumni Association Executives Meet with OIA
The interim and immediate past executives of the Alumni Association of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have held a meeting for a smooth leadership transition and to strengthen collaboration for the advancement of the Association.
The meeting convened at the Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA) on Friday, 24th April, 2026, provided a formal platform for the interim executive to officially receive administrative and financial records from the preceding executive, following the transition of office.
Chaired by the Director of OIA, Prof. Dandy George Dampson, the meeting brought together the immediate past President of the Alumni Association, Prof. Emmanuel Sarpong and his team on one hand, the Interim President, Dr. Samuel Ofori Danquah and members of the interim executive on the other.
During the engagement, Prof. Sarpong provided a comprehensive background to the history and operations of the Association and formally handed over all relevant documents and records to the interim executive. He described the process as the beginning of a new chapter in the Association’s development and encouraged the new leadership to sustain the progress achieved over the years.
Dr. Danquah, on behalf of the interim executive, expressed appreciation to the former leadership for their dedication and contributions to the growth of the Association. He further appealed for continuous guidance and counsel from past executives to support the work of the interim administration.
Prof. Dampson commended both teams for their commitment to the Association and called for stronger collaboration among alumni leaders to elevate the Association. He also urged the interim executive to expedite processes towards promulgating the new constitution of the Association. He noted that the document had undergone legal review and was in good standing.
Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Angella Tetteh Nyarko, Senior Assistant Registrar at OIA; Madam Afi Nutakor, former Secretary of the Alumni Association who joined virtually; Mrs. Adentwi-Hayford; Mr. Solomon Adutwum Sarpong (CA), Vice-President; Miss Gifty Yeboah, Secretary; Mr. Nissho Kwaku Accorley, Organising Secretary; Mr. Clement Damoah, Financial Secretary and Mr. George Hooper, Administrator of the Alumni Association.
