Organisational Culture as a Predictor of Employee work Outcomes in the Hospitality Industry: The Moderating Role of Employee Job Satisfaction
Organizational culture has become an imperative factor in managing organizations in the current complex global environment, hence, management of firms needs to recognize and identify the core elements of their organization‟s culture and its effect linked to employee-related behaviors. This study examined organizational culture as a predictor of employee work outcomes in the hospitality industry in Ghana. Based on a survey of employees in 5 hotels in the Effutu, Gomoa and Agona municipalities, the study purposively sampled 250 employees. Questionnaire was used in data collection with Cronbach‟s alpha reliability coefficient above 0.70. Data gathered were coded into SPSS v23 and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (PLS- SEM). The confirmatory factor analysis revealed that, OC significantly predicts JP, EI and JS. EI had a significant impact on JP but the relationship between JS and JP was not significant. The study recommends that implementing a balance of strong supporting cultures, strong EI skills and better satisfaction levels among employees should highly be considered by organizations in improving performance as this strengthen comity and motivates the workforce.
