UEW SELLL and FABSE in Cleanup Initiative
In a proactive move to foster a conducive environment for academic and communal activities, the School of Education and Life-Long Learning (SELLL), and the Faculty of Applied Behavioural Sciences in Education (FABSE) joined forces to a remarkable cleanup initiative on January 8, 2023, at Faculty enclave.
Spearheaded by the Deans, Prof. Hinneh Kusi (SELLL) and Mrs. Christina Ammah (FABSE), the event aimed at enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal, hygiene, and functionality of the faculty premises.
Under the theme "Start the semester fresh: clean surroundings, clean mind," the cleanup initiative drew inspiration from the timeless adage emphasising the profound connection between our external and internal worlds. The concept posits that by maintaining a tidy, well-organised environment, individuals lay the groundwork for a tranquil and focused mental state—a space conducive to inspiration, clarity, and inner peace.
Faculty members actively participated in the cleanup, embodying a sense of collective responsibility for the upkeep of shared spaces. The primary goal was to create a cleaner and more organised environment within the Faculty, fostering a positive atmosphere for both faculty and students alike.
The results were tangible and transformative. The collaborative effort yielded a visually appealing space that is not only hygienic but also well-organised. The cleanup initiative not only addressed immediate concerns but also laid the foundation for long-term positive impacts on the academic community.
Prof. Hinneh Kusi expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "Our environment plays a crucial role in shaping our experiences and fostering academic excellence. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to providing a conducive space for both faculty and students to thrive."
Mrs. Christina Ammah echoed these sentiments, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in maintaining a clean and inspiring academic environment. "We believe that a clean and organised space is essential for fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility among our faculty members," she remarked.
The success of this cleanup initiative stands as a testament to the commitment of Faculty towards creating an environment that promotes academic excellence and overall well-being. As the semester begins, the transformed premises set the stage for a fresh start, emphasising the importance of a clean mind in the pursuit of knowledge and innovation.
