The Vice-Chancellor’s Community Initiative Programme (VCCIP) is a community development initiative of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), established to address educational, economic and social challenges affecting the people of Effutu, Ajumako and their surrounding communities.

The programme reflects the University’s commitment to service to the community, social inclusivity, teamwork and partnership development. It brings together the University, community leaders, volunteers, donors and other stakeholders to create opportunities, improve lives and promote sustainable development.

Our Purpose

The VCCIP seeks to support individuals and communities through targeted interventions in education, financial assistance and vocational skills development.

The programme places particular emphasis on improving educational outcomes, supporting financially disadvantaged students and equipping young people with practical skills that enhance their employability and economic independence.

Our Objectives

The Vice-Chancellor’s Community Initiative Programme was established to:

• improve the standard of education within the Effutu and Ajumako Educational Directorates;

• provide financial support to needy indigenes of the Effutu and Ajumako Traditional Areas to pursue tertiary education, particularly programmes in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; and

• equip the youth of Effutu and Ajumako with marketable skills to enhance their employability.

By combining the University’s knowledge, expertise and resources with the commitment of communities and development partners, the programme seeks to nurture potential, expand opportunities and leave a lasting legacy of positive change in Effutu, Ajumako and their surrounding communities.
