MISSION
To train competent teachers for Upper Primary and JHS levels of education, conduct research, disseminate knowledge, and contribute to educational policy and development at the Upper Primary and Junior High School levels.
VISION
To be a globally reputable department for teacher education and research for Upper Primary and Junior High School levels of education.
GOALS
The goals of the Department are to:
- equip teachers with skills in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- provide students with appropriate content knowledge, skills and methods in teaching various subjects at the Upper Primary and Junior High School levels.
- equip teachers with skills in designing and administering assessment in the school system.
- equip students with skills in the selection, designing, and use of instructional materials.
- equip teachers with skills in classroom management and instructional supervision.
- provide teachers with a firm foundation for research and further studies in education and related disciplines.
