The Centre for Educational Policy Studies (CEPS) was established as a reputable, interdisciplinary research-led centre that seeks to provide in-depth understanding of the relationship between educational policy, research and practice at the institutional, national and international levels.  The Centre also conducts research, teaches and plays a leading role in the formulation and practice of educational policies in Ghana and beyond. CEPS was established in 2000 in response to the need to undertake research into educational issues and to influence educational practice in Ghana and elsewhere.

Its vision is to become an internationally reputable research centre for educational policy development.

Functions/Activities of the Centre

Conducts research into teaching and learning in basic and second cycle educational institutions.

Organises seminars and workshops for teachers and other school/district education personnel in educational policy issues

Organises roundtable conferences on educational policy development.

Staff at CEPS supervise graduate dissertations e.g. M.Ed. degree level, M.Phil. degree level in the Department of Educational Administration and Management (DEAM) of UEW.
