Description

• The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Ewe language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the language to enable them to teach at the basic and secondary levels of education.

Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the Ewe language.

• SHS Certificate Holders

• Teachers certificate ‘A’ Holders

• All who want to be trained in the Ewe language, literature and culture

Entry Requirement

Entry Requirements

A: WASSCE Candidates

» Must have six (6) Credit Passes (A1-C6) comprising three (3) Core Subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science OR Social Studies and

» Credit passes (in three (3) Relevant Elective subjects (i.e. the Ghanaian Language to be studied and 2 other electives) or

» Must have six (6) Passes (A-D) comprising three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science OR Social Studies and

» Credit passes in three (3) Relevant Elective subjects (i.e. the Ghanaian Language to be studied and 2 other electives)

B: Mature Applicants

» Must be at least 25 years by 1st September of the academic year one wants to enrol.

Must hold:

» Teachers Certificate “A” or

» SHS/SSS Certificate or Certificate of

Professional Training from a recognised Institution.

» Must pass the University’s Entrance Examination.

Note:

Linguistics and German require no pre-requisite knowledge. Those who want to offer French on the other hand must have done French at the SHS level. Students who want to do English must have at least C5 in Core English.
