Appointment of Study Centre Coordinators
The College for Distance and e-Learning of the University of Education, Winneba, invites applications from suitably qualified and competent individuals for the position of Study Centre Coordinator in Forty-four Study Centres across the country.
THE POSITION
The Coordinator is the Manager of the Study Centre. The Coordinator is responsible to the Principal of the College for Distance and e-Learning for the Supervision and effective and efficient Management of the Study Centre to support the vision and mission of the College.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Candidate seeking appointment as Study Centre Coordinator must have:
- Master’s in Education or Applied Sciences or Social Sciences or Humanities.
- A minimum of five (5) years Teaching and Administrative Experience.
- A person with leadership qualities, organizational skills and must be above reproach.
- An individual of integrity with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Able to promote good relationship between the Study Centre and Host Institutions
- Ability to manage and control crises at the Study Centre
TENURE OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment is part-time. Successful applicant should be able to serve at least two (2) years (1st August, 2023 - 31st July, 2025). The successful candidate shall be expected to assume duty by 1st August, 2023.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

SCHEDULE OF DUTIES FOR STUDY CENTRE COORDINATOR
The Study Centre Coordinators are expected to perform the following duties:
- Ensure that tutorials are well organized at the Study Centre.
- Appoint trusted invigilators and fairly supervise the conduct of examinations at the study centre without blemish.
- Ensure that student pay fees fully before the commencement of the 1st Semester.
- Assist students to register accordingly and appropriately for the programme offered and ensure that students register at the beginning of each semester.
- Serve as a role model for students.
- Supervise the work of administrative staff and tutors.
- Ensure that tutors tutor accordingly and are punctual and regular.
- Vet tutors’ claims properly and submit them on time for payment.
- Maintain proper records on course modules and its distribution at the Study Centre.
- Put proper measures in place to check student attendance of tutorials.
- Ensure proper maintenance of files and assets of the College at the Study Centre.
- Keep proper records on students at the Study Centre.
- Do well to ensure that student’s population increase by at least 10% within the period of appointment.
- Be present and supervise the conduct of exams and quizzes.
- To recommend Tutors with relevant requisite qualification(s) for Tutoring to the Principal for interview and appointment.
- To ensure full adherence of the COVID-19 safety protocols at the Study Centre.
- And any other related work to be assigned by the Principal.
