DAFPM-UEW Embarks Enrollment Drive Across Six Regions
In a strategic move to expand its undergraduate programmes and reach a wider audience, the Department of Applied Finance and Policy Management (DAFPM), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has launched an enrollment drive across six different regions of Ghana.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Acting Head of Department, Dr. Joseph Ato Forson, aims not only to increase enrollment but also to promote awareness about the Department's offerings and career prospects within the School of Business.
The Department's outreach covered Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Western, Oti, Central, Bono East, Eastern, and Volta regions, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and national representation. To ensure effective engagement, lecturers from the Department were strategically paired and assigned to each region, facilitating personalised interactions with prospective students.
The enrollment drive took a hands-on approach, with faculty members taking turns educating students in various schools about the admission requirements for the Department's diverse undergraduate programmes. The sessions also highlighted the potential career pathways available within the Department of Applied Finance and Policy Management and the broader School of Business.
To maximise the impact of the initiative, an array of promotional materials, including flyers and posters, were distributed among students and teachers in the targeted second-cycle institutions. These materials not only outlined the admission requirements but also showcased the success stories of alumni and emphasised the unique strengths and opportunities offered by the Department.
Dr. Joseph Ato Forson expressed his optimism about the initiative, stating, "This enrollment drive is not just about increasing numbers; it's about providing students with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. We want to ensure that every prospective student understands the exciting opportunities that our Department and the School of Business have to offer."
The initiative received positive feedback from participating schools, with many expressing appreciation for the Department's proactive approach to reaching out to potential students. As a result, the Department of Applied Finance and Policy Management anticipates a significant uptick in applications for the upcoming academic year.
With this enrollment drive, the Department is not only striving for quantitative growth but is also dedicated to fostering a diverse and talented student body that will contribute meaningfully to the field of applied finance and policy management.
