Professor Florence Dolphyne Donates Accordion to UEW
The University of Education, Winneba has received an Accordion Musical Instrument from Professor Florence Dolphyne of the University of Ghana, Legon on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
In a statement, Prof. Dolphyne remarked that the musical instrument belonged to her late father and she deemed it appropriate to send it to a place where it would be put to good use and this informed her decision to make the presentation to the University of Education, Winneba.
The Registrar of the University, Dr. C. Y. Akwaa-Mensah, receiving the instrument on behalf of the University expressed gratitude to Prof. Dolphyne for the kind gesture and also for making UEW the selected choice for the donation. He assured her that the instrument would be put to good use.
On her part, the Dean of the School of Creative Arts, Associate Prof. Mary Dzansi McPalm who was present at the ceremony indicated that the Department of Music Education was very vibrant and the presentation of the Accordion would afford students of the Department the opportunity to learn how to play it.
Present at the presentation was the Finance Officer of UEW, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie.
