CENTRAL REGIONAL CHAPTER OF COOPERATIVE INAUGURATES NEW SET OF EXECUTIVE
The newly elected Board Chairman of the Central Regional Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union, Mr. Steve van Kamassah has called on all members of the Cooperative Union in the Central Regional Chapter to support the newly elected board members of the Union with commitment to the principles of the cooperative movement, selflessness, advice and constructive criticism to help in achieving the vision and mandate of the Union.
He said this at the recently held induction ceremony for the newly elected six-member Board of Directors of the Central Regional Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union on 9th June, 2016 at Cape Coast. Amongst his vision shared was the need to:
• encourage all Societies to prepare and submit, in a good time, monthly reports in line with the Cooperative Union Association's standards;
• rely on ICT to create new and innovative products that suit the taste, focus and demand of the clientele;
• position the Union in readiness to the fill “gaps” created by unsustainable offerings of micro-finance institutions throughout the region, and last but not least,
• improve upon the communication channels to enable faster information sharing.
He further said the Cooperative Union has “a track record of catering for the welfare needs of its membership through its various loan schemes and value-added services such as hire purchase facility.” Continuing from there, he indicated the readiness of the newly elected board members to support and continue to cater for the welfare needs of all members by ensuring competitively lower interest rates, security for our savings and better conditions for members.
