Be bold to take risk into business – Prof Okine

Professor Reynolds Okine, Principal, College of Technology Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has encouraged university graduates to accept to take risks and venture into business.
He said the training they had received should aid them to create employment for themselves to lead a good life.
That, he pointed out, was the path to travel to bring down the high rate of joblessness in the country.
Prof Okine was speaking at the opening of a-day’s products’ exhibition mounted by level 300 students of the university in Kumasi.

Gender Directorate Organises Mentoring for Senior Members

A two-day mentoring workshop has been organized by the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate for newly appointed senior members of the University to assist them in progressing in their career development in the University.

The workshop was held from 24th to 25th April, 2017 and attended by twenty (20) mentees and four (4) mentors from selected departments in the university.

Have the Image of the University at Heart in Your Service Delivery – HR Entreats Faculty Administrators

The Deputy Registrar in charge of the Division of Human Resource, Mrs. Christie Okae-Anti has charged Administrators of the various faculties of the university to render quality service to customers of the university and exhibit confidentiality in the discharge of their duties.  She made these remarks at a two-day workshop held at the Registrar’s Conference Room from 26th to 27th April, 2017.

SOFTWARE AND TALENT EXHIBITION CONTEST 2017

The Software and Talent Exhibition Contest was a scheduled activity as part of the INFOCTESS (Information and Communication Technology Students' Society) Week Celebration held on 5th April, 2017 at the Main Computer Laboratory of the Department of ICT Education. The purpose of the event was to encourage students to showcase their innovative ideas and build on their talents in the ICT field. There were five contestants in the exhibition.

ASHIS ADJUDGED THE BEST CLUB IN UEW

The Association of History Students has been awarded as the best club  in the University for 2016/2017 Academic year at the NUGS Excellence Awards Ceremony.

The Association was established in 2013 with the objective to create a common forum for the students and teachers of history to actively participate in the decision making structures of the Department and to ensure that the challenges,grievances and needs of students are met.The association also organises occasional workshops,exhibitions,competitions,annual get- togethers and also promote professional ethics among members.

UEW – Vodafone Foundation Awards Ten Scholarships to Promote Science Education

The Vodafone Ghana Foundation in partnership with the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate of the University of Education, Winneba has awarded scholarships to 10 Female Students pursueing various Science, Mathematics and Technology related programmes in UEW.

The Ceremony was held on 25th April, 2017 and witnessed by Staff of the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate, Vodafone Ghana Foundation, British Council, Heads of Departments and other Staff of UEW.
