UIARS (pronounced "you-ars") is a software designed to ease the work of Exams Officers in UEW by automatically generating various report forms after exam invigilations. This software generates reports such as Individual Claim forms and Total time slots for both Practical and Theory exams for all invigilators who were present during examination.
Hosteller is an online booking and Advertisement website for all Students and Hostel owners to enable them search and book hostel accommodation at their convenience. The software allows for online payment of hostel fees using mobile money and prints receipt for verification / clarification.
Software Features The Software has the following features:
1. Booking of hostel rooms
2. Membership Sign up and login
3. Contact Hostel Administration feature
4. Viewing hostel detailed information
5. Online payment through mobile money
As we mark the end of the year 2016 and ready ourselves to usher in a new one, Management wishes to commend all staff for the hard work exhibited during the year 2016.
For us, 2017 will be a year for maximizing our gains and making inroads into such areas that will further boost our efforts at achieving our mandate and ensuring excellence in providing quality education.
Let’s keep pushing and striving towards excellence, bearing in mind that our collective efforts will definitely yield good results.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Professor Mawutor Avoke has called on all Senior Members of the University to continue to work hard towards achieving the agenda of the institution. He said this at the end of year get together held on Wednesday December 21, 2016 for Senior Members at Senior Members and Staff Association Club House (SEMSA).
In its bid to establish partnership with Universities in Ghana and Africa as a whole, two officials from the University of West Florida (UWF) visited the University of Education, Winneba on Wednesday, 20th December, 2016 at the North Campus. The two officials, Prof. Francis E. Godwyll, the Chairman for the Department for Research and Advanced Studies and Director for Doctoral Studies and Dr. Wisdom Mensah, in charge of marketing University of West Florida in Ghana interacted with a team from UEW chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mawutor Avoke.
Dr. Edmund Akwesi Agyeman and Dr. Emmanuel Carsamer of the University of Education as part of a donor funded research on “Pentecostalism and the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship: the case of Mama Sarah Prayer Camp at Goka”, funded by John Templeton foundation in the US through the Nagel Institute had a dissemination seminar on the study at the Catholic University College of Ghana on 9th December, 2016. There were three presentations by Dr. Sackey Akomea, Rev. Fr. Peter Oppong Kumi (chaplain CUC) and the main researchers.
The University of Education, Winneba has shown appreciation to its staff with an end of year get-together for their immense contribution towards the upliftment of the image of the institution.
The Finland ambassador to the West African sub-region, Mrs. Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury on December 11, 2016 paid a visit to the University of Education, Winneba to interact with staff and students of the University as part of the operational agreements in the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Jyvaskyla (JYU) in Finland and the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana.
The Department of History Education has been known for its substantive commitment to student success. With this success, comes reward. The Department has been highly praised for its achievements over its three and half year existence. The Department has consistently rewarded its members for the collective contribution they make in achieving the ultimate goal of making History Education at UEW a leader in the field.
