UEW SIGNS MOU WITH FLEET TECHNOLOGIES

The University of Education, Winneba signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fleet Technologies at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office on Wednesday 6th April, 2016 to assist in the automation of verification of student results from West African Examination Council (WAEC). Introducing the delegation, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah noted that the signing of the agreement was informed by the Division’s quest to improve upon the Admissions Process currently in place.

UEW SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL SECTOR IN GHANA

The University of Education, Winneba has shown readiness to provide the needed assistance to the Colleges of Education in upgrading its status into tertiary institutions in Ghana. Structures put in place were discussed at a stakeholder workshop held on the theme “Current Trends in Teacher Education in Ghana” by two renowned educationists: Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah and Dr. (Mrs.) Evelyn Oduro.

GRADUATE SCHOOL AND IERIS RE-ACTIVATE GRADUATE SEMINAR SERIES

The School of Graduate Studies in collaboration with the Institute of Educational Research and Innovative Studies (IERIS) have organised a Research Seminar for Graduate Students and Faculty on the theme “International Visiting Scholar Research Seminar Series (2016).” The Seminar which was held on Tuesday, 26th April, 2016 was meant to expose participants to approaches that could be used to develop Universities in developing countries into high quality research intensive Universities with demonstrable impact. UEW PLACES 5TH AT ALL AFRICA UNIVERSITY GAMES

The University of Education, Winneba has beaten 30 universities to place 5th at the 8th All Africa University Games held in South Africa in July this year.

The Games aimed at fostering unity on the African Continent brought together 35 participating Universities from 9 countries. Thus, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Botswana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Zambia.

CENTRAL REGIONAL CHAPTER OF COOPERATIVE INAUGURATES NEW SET OF EXECUTIVE

The newly elected Board Chairman of the Central Regional Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union, Mr. Steve van Kamassah has called on all members of the Cooperative Union in the Central Regional Chapter to support the newly elected board members of the Union with commitment to the principles of the cooperative movement, selflessness, advice and constructive criticism to help in achieving the vision and mandate of the Union.
