UEW Partners Four Institutions to Promote Education

The University of Education, Winneba on Tuesday 28th February, 2017 signed Memorandum of Understanding with four institutions as part of its efforts to promote education in Ghana and the sub-region.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mawutor Avoke, during the ceremony indicated that UEW’s intention for all its affiliated institutions is to mentor them to become independent with time, as such places priority on its partnership agreements with them. He noted that the agreement sought to build the capacity of staff of the institutions to enable them deliver on their educational mandate. He urged them to ensure that their curricula were taken through regular accreditation to meet the required standards of educational provision and delivery in Ghana.

On his part, the Registrar of UEW, Dr. C.Y. Akwaa-Mensah underscored the need for the affiliated institutions to ensure that high standards were maintained in their educational delivery to merit UEW certificates issued to their products. The affiliate institutions expressed their gratitude to UEW for accepting to mentor them and assured the Vice-Chancellor that they would adhere to the tenets of the agreements.

The partner institutions and their programmes on offer are:

  • The University College of Management Studies - Bachelor of Business Administration (Options in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Human Resource management, marketing and Procurement & Supply Chain Management).
  • Ho Technical University - Diploma in Education
  • Islamic University College, Ghana - Diploma and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
  • Bia Lamplighter College of Education - Diploma in Basic Education

    Signing on behalf of UEW was the Vice-Chancellor, witnessed by the Registrar. Whiles, the Vice-Chancellors/Presidents and their Registrars/Secretaries of the Colleges signed for the partner institutions.

    Present at the signing was the Deputy Registrar in charge of the Division of Publications and Communication, Mr. Steve van Kamassah and his team.
