UEW Academic Heads Urged to Collaboratively Exhibit Effective Leadership Skills
Academic Heads of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have been urged to collaborate and exhibit effective leadership skills that will have positive impact on the University.
UEW is the most populated University in Ghana and certainly one of the most effective Universities in the sub-region. Therefore, to advance in its successes, Management held an orientation for Deans, Directors and Heads of Department to share ideas and explore new and better ways of working within the institution.
The Orientation, held under the theme “Achieving Results through Effective Leadership” took place at Manna Heights Hotel, Mankessim for Academic Heads on Winneba and Ajumako Campuses while those of Kumasi and Asante-Mampong Campuses came off at Anita Hotel, Ejisu, Kumasi on Wednesday, 22nd and Friday, 24th August, 2018 respectively.
In her Welcome Address and Purpose for the Orientation, the Senior Assistant Registrar and Head, University Relations Office and Media, Ms. Obaapanin Adu Oforiwaa emphasised the need for the various Departments to periodically meet and discuss current trends in management and the organisational behaviour necessary for continuous institutional advancement.
“We are meeting to share ideas and to enhance ways of working within our institution. As old and newly appointed Deans, Directors and Heads of Department, it is proper that we familarise ourselves with the administrative procedures, practices and financial processes of the University of Education, Winneba as well as collaboratively exhibit effective leadership skills that will yield results. It is envisaged that we would all open up and participate fully in ways that can help the University achieve results through effective leadership. Together, we can raise the flag of UEW high and also be proud of our achievements.” She said.
