The Head of Department of Geography Educaton of the University of Education Winneba, has been elected the President of Ghana Geographers Association (GGA). This came at an election held at Ho Technical University as part of the annual conference of the association. He took over from Prof. Martin Oteng Ababio of the University of Ghana who was the President from August 2015 to 2017. Dr.Dadson until this election, was the Vice President of the association.

The Ghana Geographers Association is a national organization for all geographers and practitioners of geography in this country. Its membership is drawn from tertiary institutions, second cycle institutions, reteach and analogous institutions.

Other officers elected to positions are Dr. Alex Owusu Barimah of UG, Vice President,  Dr, Esther Danso-Wiredu of UEW, Treasurer, Mr. Enoch F. Sam, UEW, General Secretary and Mr, Adu Gyamfi of Kumasi High Secondary as the 2nd Vice President. The new executives are to serve the association for the next two years. By the election of Dr, Ishmael Yaw Dadson, though the permanent secretariat of the association still remains at the University of Ghana-Legon, the national administrative secretariat thus moves from the University of Ghana to the University of Education, Winneba. Next year’s annual conference of GGA in August will be hosted by the Department of Geography Education, UEW at Winneba.
