Members of the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have hit the road running soon after their inauguration, tasking themselves to touring the various satellite campuses of the University to seek first-hand information on the state of affairs there.
The University of Education, Winneba has joined the world in marking the international day for young adolescent girls. The International Day of the Girl Child (Day of the Girl) is celebrated annually on October 11 to highlight issues concerning the gender inequality facing young girls (aged 10-19). This year’s theme is “The Power of the Adolescent Girl: Vision for 2030.”
As part of efforts to bridge the gap between the University and the community, the Procurement Department in collaboration with the Division of Human Resource has held a workshop for all business owners in the Effutu Municipality. The event, which was held on 4th October, 2017 at the JN Aryeetey Auditorium sought to educate the business community on opportunities in the University they could access.
Thursday 12th October, 2017 witnessed the first workshop for the academic year (2017/18) held for staff and service personnel of the Department of Media Relations of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at the Finance Conference Room, North campus. The workshop was held under the theme "Improving performance of Staff at the Workplace"
The Department of Early Childhood in partnership with its Student Association has presented educational materials to basic schools in Winneba. The items which were presented on 6th October, 2017, were part of its annual contribution to support basic schools in Winneba.
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), emerged as winners of the Western Zone maiden Inter-University electronic Constitution quiz competition organised by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Cape Coast on the 9th of October, 2017.
They bagged 445 points to beat the University of Cape Coast (UCC) who came second with 303 points, followed by Takoradi Technical University with 25 points in a keenly contested event held on Monday.
