Jason McKenna is an author, teacher, speaker, and a seasoned STEM education and educational technology leader. He serves as Vice President of Global Educational Strategy at VEX Robotics, where he leads the development and integration of STEM and computer science curricula for platforms such as VEX IQ, VEX GO, VEX 123, VEXcode VR, and VEX V5/EXP.
With over two decades of experience in education, Jason is the author of What STEM Can Do for Your Classroom, a resource celebrated for its practical classroom strategies that emphasize collaboration, problem-solving, and student engagement. His career began as a classroom teacher in Pennsylvania, where he designed professional development programs and partnered with school districts to align STEM initiatives with evolving academic standards.
Jason’s approach is deeply research-informed, drawing on collaborations with institutions including the University of Maryland and the University of Florida’s CS-Everyone Center for Computer Science Education. He holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest), and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Geneva College.
