International Women’s Day 2018
Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women's Day successful. The global theme for the celebration of the 2018 International Women’s Day is “Press for Progress: We can’t be Complacent”
The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate in partnership with GRASSAG, NUGS and Nobles is organising a 3-day programme to commemorate this year’s International Day for Women. As part of highlighting and addressing the needs and challenges of the contemporary Ghanaian woman, the aforementioned groups remain resolute in pressing for progress in gender parity with the theme: Igniting the Power of the 21st Century Ghanaian Woman Towards Nation-Building.
Guest speakers for the occassion are Dr. Andy Ofori Birinkorang, Dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages Education; and Ms. Helena Baaba Botchway, 1st Runner-up Ghana's Most Beautiful 2017.
The event is under the distinguished chairmanship of the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni.
The 3-day-event is scheduled as follows:
Day 1 – Opening and Launch of International Day of Women on Thursday, 8th March, 2018.
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Day 2 – Health Talk and Screening on Friday, 9th March, 2018.
Venue: Jophus Anamuah- Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus and Trauma Specialist Hospital
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4: 00 p.m.
Girl Talk – 5:00 p.m. at Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.
Day 3 – Aerobics and Sports Gala
Venue: Sports College Pitch
Part 1 – Aerobics
Part 2 – Games
