•Theatre for Development (TfD)  communicates through theatre to create and raise awareness to stimulate social change (Osterlind, 2013; Chukwu-Okoronkwo, 2015a)
 
•Culture reflects ideologies and belief systems of a particular group of people (Spencer-Oatey, 2012; Bennet, 2015)
•  Language is an essential aspect of culture (Gallagher, Freeman & Wessells, 2010; Sloman, 2011)
 
•Nima has seen less development over the years due to persistence of social issues  (Kumassah 2010; George, 2015)
