The Department of Geography Education under the Faculty of Social Sciences Education on Monday, 26th November, 2018 held an end-of-semester sensitisation meeting with its students at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba. This was part of efforts to inculcate a sense of discipline into the students with the ultimate aim of producing graduates who are aware of the dictates of their environment.

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially renamed the Faculty Block at the University’s North Campus Faculty of Social Sciences Education.
This was made possible after members of the Faculty held a series of meetings with Management to consider giving the building a new name.
The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has said that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) continues to face challenges in securing high quality and experienced doctoral degree holders for its rigorous academic work.
He encouraged stakeholders to support UEW in identifying and welcoming those rare human resources to the University.
The Governing Council Chairman of the University of Education, Winneba, has responded to a letter by Harold Tivah Atuguba, lawyer for the two dismissed staff of the University - Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Dr. Senyo Ackorlie.
In the letter, the Chair stated unequivocally, that the decision to dismiss the two staff was purely "the decision of the Governing Council of the University and not at the instance of any court decision, directive or consequential orders".
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) will from Monday, 19th November to Saturday, 1st December, 2018 graduate over 16,000 students at its 23rd Congregation.
The November Congregation will take place at Winneba, Asante Mampong and Kumasi Campuses of the University.
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Thursday, 15th November, 2018 launched its 25th Anniversary celebration at the forecourt of Administration Block, North Campus, Winneba.
The launch, done under the theme “Sustaining Quality Education in Ghana through Effective Teacher Education: The Role of UEW”, was spiced with colourful musical and rich cultural displays by Departments of Music and Theatre Arts.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has said that he will be fully committed to promoting gender issues in the University during his three-year tenure. In that regard, he has challenged women in the University to strive for the highest ranks possible in UEW, stressing thus, “It is my avowed commitment to see at least 10 women achieve professorial ranks before my tenure comes to an end.”
A six-member delegation of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Alumni Association paid a courtesy call on the fourth Vice-Chancellor of the UEW, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni to congratulate him.
The delegation, led by the Head of Department, Human Resource Management, UEW, Dr. B.B.B. Binghab expressed the goodwill and support of the entire UEW Global Alumni Association on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor to steer the affairs of the University of Excellence for the ensuing years.
Newly appointed Senior Members of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Thursday, 1st November, 2018 underwent a day’s orientation at the Council Chamber, North Campus, Winneba.
The orientation, organised by the Division of Human Resource (UEW) was to equip and embolden the newly appointed Senior Members in Winneba Campus as Convocation Members and Opinion Leaders of the University as well as people molding the academic character of UEW students.
Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has donated assorted items to the Chief and members of Ajumakoman Traditional Area towards the Akwanbokese festival of the people of the Ajumako-Anyan-Essiam District of the Central Region.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Management of UEW were Dr. Charles Owu-Ewie, Dean of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education and the College Registrar, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah, Ajumako Campus.
