UEW Expands Infrastructure for Staff and Students Well-being

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has cut sod for the construction of a Food Court (eatery) and has also commissioned two projects all at the University’s North Campus in Winneba. The two projects commissioned were Clothing Production Unit Block and Food Production Unit Restaurant. 

This is in fulfillment of Management’s dedication to improve infrastructure and provide a serene environment for efficient academic work as well as a conducive place of eating for the well-being of staff and students.

Scholarship Beneficiaries Spurred on to make Benefactors Proud

29 beneficiaries of the Pent Scholarship and Vodafone Ghana Foundation Scholarship from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have been spurred on to make worthy profits of the scholarships and to focus on their books to make themselves and the benefactors proud.

This advice was given at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba during an interaction session organised by the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate, UEW.

“Grant us very Handsome Financial Clearance”, UEW Appeals to Government

The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has appealed to government to grant the University “a very handsome financial clearance” so it can augment its teaching and non-teaching staff strength for the effective and efficient delivery of its mandate.

The appeal follows additional responsibility that the government has recently given UEW by affiliating 15 Colleges of Education to the University to mentor and help in their continuous professional and infrastructural development and governance.

“Focus More on Good Things Happening at UEW” – Chairman of Governing Council Appeals to Media

Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Emmanuel Nicholas Abakah has made a passionate appeal to all media organisations in the country to demonstrate commitment towards the peace and development of UEW by projecting the many good things happening in the University.

Oftentimes, he noted that the media concentrate on news items that are slanted to give UEW bad publicity and by so doing, paint the University black in the eyes and minds of the good people of Ghana and abroad.

April Session Congregation: UEW Graduates 865 Students

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has graduated a total of 865 students at its April Session Congregation held at the Asante Mampong, Kumasi and Winneba Campuses of the University.

On Tuesday, 23rd April, 2019, a total of 160 students from the Faculties of Agricultural Education and, Science and Environment Education were graduated with various certificates or degrees at Asante Mampong.

UEW Launches 2019-2023 Corporate Strategic Plan at COLTEK

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has launched its fourth 5-year (2019-2023) Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP) that would facilitate the successful execution of its core mandate as the foremost teacher training university in Ghana.

The 73-page document, launched at the Kumasi campus of the University on April 24, 2019 captures the University’s plan under seven crucial themes with respective clear-cut objectives and strategies.

MPs, CEOs, others speak at COLTEK GRASAG Entrepreneurship Seminar

The College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) played host to two Members of Parliament (MPs) and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP). They were at the College at the invitation of the COLTEK branch of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) as the principal speakers for the Association’s two-day Entrepreneurship Seminar.

Level 300 Students of COLTEK Prepare for Industrial Attachment

A day’s orientation has been organised for level 300 students at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) as part of preparations to embark on compulsory industrial attachment upon completion of the second semester examinations in June 2019.

Each of the students is required to do a minimum of six weeks supervised industrial attachment which is one of the key requirements for graduating from the University.
